More than 100 participants joined top New Mexico public officials, government, educational, environmental, and biodiesel industry leaders to discuss challenges and strategies for public policy and the development of environmentally beneficial biodiesel fuel at the First Annual New Mexico Biodiesel Policy Summit, held March 27-28, 2008 in Albuquerque.

Summit Mission

"A pressing need exists to from a strong partnership between innovation and progressive energy policy that safeguards the environment, while stimulating growth. This is the ultimate challenge for everyone involved in the renewable energy sector—and it is especially true for policy makers. Biodiesel fuel is expected to play a significant role in the nation's future energy mix and investments and New Mexico can figure prominently—if not lead the way—in developing this important fuel source. Discussions focusing on the specific energy challenges and issues facing our state will help shape public policy and identify real-time opportunities in this emerging 'green' sector."
